Welcome Bahnhof CEO and Nokia Music Manager
Interesting! Today we proudly present our new panelists Åsa Carild, Music Manager at Nokia, Palle Dahlstedt researcher from Chalmers University of Technology and Jon Karlung CEO of Bahnhof AB.
Jon Karlung, CEO of Bahnhof AB about his expectations for the conference:
“I hope I can contribute with something from the other side of the digital “trenches”, the operator perspective. I think that one should explore new entrepreneurish possibilities for the music industry. We provide people with the digital highways to their homes – so we are the key to explore new models. We would prefer to sell a flat license to file share – instead of license to hide yourself on the Internet. I also advice the industry – film and music – to open up meta data (databases) for third party applications to avoid locking in the future to one single solution (spotify).”
Palle Dahlstedt, a composer, an improviser, and researcher of the University of Gothenburg/ Chalmers University of Technology is looking forward to the Creators’ Conference and says from his skeeing trip:
“Especially relevant for this conference, and in the light of today’s music technology, I have a special interest for the relation between toolmaker, the tool, and the artist, and the increasingly complex issue of authorship in relationship to generative music.”
The purpose of the Conference is to discuss: How to provide widespread, affordable access to content for the public and to encourage a dynamic creative culture, while returning value to the creators. We want to discuss theese questions in a progressive way and we are looking forward to finding new solutions to todays issues and hot topics!
Welcome to the Creators’ Conference – the first international conference in Sweden arranged by the creators themselves and their professional organizations.
