Olle Bjerkås – Entrepreneur, Sweden
Olle is currently working with “365 things you can do” (365 saker du kan göra) a mass movement of young creative bloggers, inspiring thousands of readers each day, to do things. Olle is aiming to connect young creative persons with established artist and institutions through temporary co-creative spaces. The goal is to create sustainable networks of cross culture inspiration. Mainly inspired by the internet,- where the co-creative methods has proven to be very successful. Olle is also a game designer, DJ, festival organizer, larp organizer, and creativity consultant with focus on methods of co-creation.

Johan Svensson – Digital Distributor Rockify, Sweden
With a background in web development and digital marketing through social media Johan is a former musician who today owns Rockify – digital distribution of music through Spotify and iTunes. He is currently working on a lecture on the business side of social media called “All ads are spam”.

David Möllerstedt – Head of Audio DICE, Sweden
David Möllerstedt works as Head of Audio at EA DICE since 2005. DICE is most known for the Battlefield series with its latest installment Battlefield: Bad Company 2 that was just released and the genre defining game Mirror’s Edge released 2008. 240 game developers work at DICE´s office in Stockholm. Prior to joining DICE David has worked in the music industry with bands such as The Wannadies, Caesars Palace, 22 Pistepirkko, The Soundtracks of Our Lives, Division of Laura Lee and Fibes, oh Fibes. David is also a synthesizer designer, in the past at the legendary Elektron facility and currently at Teenage Engineering. As Head of Audio David has given several lectures and attended roundtables at game developer conferences like GDC, Tonmeister and Develop.

Gustaf Josefsson – Entrepreneur, Sweden
Gustaf gives talks about creativity, internet and the future of entrepreneurship. He is the founder and CEO of The Entrepreneurial Chase (Entreprenörsjakten), a business design consultancy that brings the mindset of young entrepreneurs into established corporation. After a successful run in 2009, the company has now spread to 4 cities and involves 120 young entrepreneurs in the spring of 2010. A lover of participatory art, Gustaf organized live roleplaying games in his youth, worked with the collaborative art project Futuredrome and is set on bringing swedish culture to Burning Man in the Nevada dessert. Gustaf is also the chairman of Young Entrepreneurs of Sweden, a nation wide network of entrepreneurs under 30.

Helen McLaughlin – Artist Manager/ A&R consultant, Sweden
Former V2 Music Scandinavian MD Helen McLaughlin recently founded McLaughlin Music Management where she does A&R consultancy work and artist management. She started her career at Swedish retailer SkivAkademien, then worked as a product manager at Sony Music in Sweden , spent a year at Sony’s European office in London before heading back to Sweden and founding V2 Music Scandinavia AB that she headed up for the next 11 years when the worldwide V2 operations were sold to Universal. Today she works with acts like Johnossi, Markus Krunegård, Those Dancing Days, Peter Bjorn and John amongst others.

Stefan Gullberg – Music Publisher EMI, Sweden
Stefan Gullberg started to work with the music industry when he joined Sweden’s biggest and most respected music magazine, Schlager, in the early 80´s. He joined PolyGram Sweden as a Product Manager in 1988. And soon became Senior Marketing Manager. After six very successful years he was appointed Marketing Director for MCA, which was just about to open up their own operations in Scandinavia. In 1996, he was again joining PolyGram but this time as an International Marketing Director for PolyGram International. Based in London he was mainly overseeing the marketing of PolyGram´s priority artists world wide. After 2 years in London he was headhunted back to Sweden in order to run EMI Svenska AB, later named EMI Music, as their Managing Director. After a bit more than 4 years he joined EMI Music Publishing as their Managing Director over their Scandinavian operations. After more than 22 years in the Music Industry, he is now enjoying the life as a Music Publisher in the most exciting time of his career.

Karin Inde – Creator, Sweden
At the age of fifteen Karin Inde almost was a world-famous jazz singer – in the whole town of Karlstad. She made the jazz of the 40’s and 50’s to her own and visited jazz clubs around her home region Värmland together with big Swedish jazznames such as Berndt Egerbladh, Lars Sjösten and Rune Carlsson. After those days of greatness she studied music in a lot of schools and then searched her way back to the fun in music again, and to the music of her own. Nowadays she runs her own business with assignments as musician, lecturer and project manager. Her latest album was released on her own lable Ingrid Sounds. Karin also works as course coordinator and ensemble teacher of jazz/pop/rock at Ingesund, the music university in Karlstad and is a member of the board of the union Svenska Musikerförbundet Stockholm, SAMI (deputy) and Impra, a music network for equality.

Palle Dahlstedt – composer, improviser, and researcher, University of Gothenburg/ Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
Palle is trained in composition at the Academies of Music in Malmö and Göteborg. Also a computer programmer since childhood, he complemented his studies with a PhD from Chalmers University of Technology in 2004, developing advanced generative tools for composers, allowing for example the “breeding” of music by ear, based on Darwinian evolution. Currently, he is working on software models of artistic creative processes, in a continued quest to understand the mind of the artist. Palle’s music has received a number of international prizes (eg, Gaudeamus Prize 2001), and he regularly tours internationally as an improviser on custom developed instruments with his duo pantoMorf -trying to bring back physical effort and fingertip expression into electronic music.

Jon Karlung – CEO Bahnhof AB, Sweden
Jon Karlung (born -64) is one of Swedens internet pioneers, and co-founder of Bahnhof – the first Swedish Internet service provider started in 1994. Bahnhof is today the largest independent Swedish internet provider (outside the large telcos) with about 15 percent of the total Swedish public internet traffic. The company is also present in Denmark, Norway, and the big internet exchange points in Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London. Jon Karlung is very outspoken regarding filesharing, integrity and personal freedom on the Internet. He has many times argued that the music, and filmindustry, must adapt their business models to the new digital landscape. Filesharing is something good – and should be exploited from a broad perspective – explore new business opportunities, rather than clinch to old structures.

Åsa Carild – Music Manager Nokia, Sweden
Åsa started out in the music business as a member of the Swedish indie band Pineforest Crunch. The band released three albums and toured internationally. When the band took an extended break Åsa started her own record label, Exergy Music to try to find and release interesting and exciting artists that flew under the major labels radar. During this time Åsa became very involved in the Swedish indie music scene working with SOM (an organisation for the Swedish indie labels). She started the projects Indiego, (a series of showcase tours for Swedish bands in the U.K), Manifest (the Swedish alternative grammies) and worked with SOMs digital group to find new ways of selling and marketing indie music online. Her Executive MBA thesis was “After the digital revolution, an analysis of the future effects on the music industry.”. Her current work at Nokia involves the “comes with music” solution with unlimited downloads .

Jens Lysdal – Creator, Denmark
Vice-president of DJBFA (The Danish Society for Jazz, Rock and Folk Composers). Executive comitee member of The Danish Council of Artists. Jens Lysdal is a singer, guitarist, composer, arranger and producer. He is educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Music and is teaching at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. He has been writing music for numerous films and TV-productions and songs from his albums are used in films around the globe. As a producer he has received several danish grammy’s. He is a co-founder of the unique ensemble “Små Oaser” (Small Oases) that creates “Improvised filmmusic for reality”.

Thomas Ekman – Commercial Director, Tele2, Sweden
At Tele2 he has regained the companys legacy as a pricefighter, constantly challenging the existing business models and the Telecom sector as such in order to drive the profit of the company. 2009 the business magazine Veckans Affärer appointed him as one of Swedens 101 Supertalents. He joined Modern Times Group MTG AB in 1998 and was behind several internetventures and companies such as everyday.com, dvdon.com, cdon.com among others, always being at the forefront in using the potential of the online world. He was also the Sales Director at Viasat Broadcasting AB and there changed the model for the distribution and sales of TV-channels. Mr Ekman has a proven track record of delivering tangible results in the fields of Media, Online and Telecom business. He holds a M.Sc in Business Administration and Economics.

Kjell-Åke Hamrén – Music Publisher and violinist, Sweden
Kjell-Åke Hamrén, who was chairman of the Swedish Music Publishers Association (SMFF) between 1999-2009, has run parallel careers as music publisher, musician and educationalist. He began his career as a music publisher alongside Stikkan Anderson at Sweden Music in the early eighties, then later became CEO at Nordiska Musikförlaget. Hamrén also worked at Warner/Chappell for five years before his own Musik och Tanke was launched in 1999. Between 2007 and 2009 he chaired the International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP).

Lorenzo Ferrero – Creator, Italy
Currently, Lorenzo Ferrero is professor of composition at Milan Conservatory and vice president of the SIAE, the Italian Authors and Publishers Association. He started composing at an early age and wrote over a hundred compositions thus far, including eleven operas, three ballets, and numerous orchestral, chamber music, solo instrumental, and vocal works.

Alfons Karabuda – Creator, Sweden
Has since age fifteen written score for both national- and international film. Is also a composer for theatre, radio drama, dance performances, mime and circus shows.
Executive Chairman of ECSA – European Composer and Songwriter Alliance and executive chairman of SKAP – The Society of Swedish Popular Music Composers.

Jakob Hüttel – Head of International Legal Affairs, KODA, Denmark
Jakob Hüttel is Head of International Legal Affairs at KODA, the Danish collective management society for composers, songwriters and publishers. He studied both in Denmark and England and also gained practical legal experience in France before graduating Master of Laws in 1999 from the University of Copenhagen with a thesis about digital copying. Prior to his employment in KODA, he worked at a law firm and was admitted attorney-at-law with the Danish bar association in 2002. He joined KODA in 2005 and became Head of International Legal Affairs in 2007, which inter alia involves KODA’s online licensing of multi-territorial internet content providers as well as KODA’s negotiations with TDC about the TDC PLAY service.

Patrick Rackow – Law Practice Consultant and Contractor, UK
Patrick is attending the Creators Conference as ECSA spokesperson. Having previously worked as an investment manager for a leading investment bank, Patrick was called to the Bar in 1992.  He started in the music industry as an in-house lawyer for a small record label and then spent twelve years working in private practice advising a wide range of clients on all aspects of the music business.  Patrick ran his own legal and business affairs consultancy until September 2008, when he was appointed CEO of BASCA. He has been a director of BASCA since 2001 and sits on the Rights Committee of UK Music.

Bennett Lincoff – intellectual property law attorney, consultant and writer, US
Bennett Lincoff has been involved since 1995 in the worldwide effort to create new legal structures and business models for the use and protection of intellectual property in the digital electronic environment. He was Director of Legal Affairs for New Media at ASCAP where he developed and authored ASCAP’s Internet license agreement. Since leaving ASCAP in 1998, he has worked with creators, rights owners, service providers and consumers to maximize the benefit each derives from the use of information and entertainment content. He is also the author of Common Sense, Accommodation and Sound Policy for the Digital Music Marketplace, a proposal for a comprehensive alternative approach to rights administration specifically adapted to digital transmissions of sound recordings and the musical works embodied in them.

Peter Jenner – Manager, UK
Peter Jenner is legendary in the music business. One time manager to Pink Floyd, The Clash, Ian Dury & Michael Franti (amongst others) he currently manages Billy Bragg. He is at the forefront of the debates surrounding the digital use of music and is President Emeritus of the IMMF, a director of the UK MMF and is on the advisory board of the FAC. His overriding interest is in securing artists’ rights and fair payment. In 2006, he courted controversy with his seminal paper and conference ‘Beyond the Soundbytes’ in which he proposed an ‘Access to Music Charge’ which would remunerate musicians appropriately for the use of their works, within a digital environment. He continues to be one of the most sought after and respected speakers in media today.
